Embark on a soul-refreshing journey through the Eastern Himalayas with this 8-day itinerary that blends natural beauty, spirituality, and cultural heritage. Begin in Gangtok, the heart of Sikkim, with excursions to high-altitude lakes and sacred shrines. Continue north to the alpine charm of Lachung and the blooming valley of Yumthang. Then descend to explore Gangtok’s iconic viewpoints and Buddhist landmarks before heading to the hidden gem of Pelling, via the spiritual town of Namchi. From thundering waterfalls to serene monasteries, this trip is a scenic and spiritual escape into the mountains.

Tour plans

Day 01: Arrival at NJP Railway Station / IXB Airport – Transfer to Gangtok


  • Meet and greet upon arrival at NJP or Bagdogra Airport


  • Drive to Gangtok (130 km / approx. 4 hours), set at 5,500 ft altitude


  • Check-in and relax at your hotel in Gangtok


Day 02: Excursion to Tsangu Lake & Baba Mandir


  • Early morning departure for Tsangu Lake (12,310 ft), a glacial lake surrounded by snow


  • Visit Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir, a revered shrine near the border


  • Return to Gangtok by evening and enjoy leisure time


Day 03: Gangtok to Lachung via Scenic Stops


  • After breakfast, begin your journey to Lachung (124 km / approx. 6 hours)


  • En route visit Tashi View Point, Naga & Bhim Nala Waterfalls, and Chungthang


  • Arrive in Lachung (9,600 ft) and check into the hotel for overnight stay


Day 04: Yumthang Valley & Return to Gangtok


  • Morning excursion to Yumthang Valley (11,800 ft), known as the Valley of Flowers


  • Visit the natural hot spring known for its healing properties


  • Post lunch, return drive to Gangtok for overnight stay


Day 05: Gangtok Local Sightseeing Tour


  • Visit Tashi View Point, Ganesh Tok & Hanuman Tok for panoramic views


  • Explore Jhakri & Burtuk Waterfalls, Tibetology Institute, Do-Drul Chorten & more


  • Enjoy the Flower Exhibition Centre and optional Ropeway ride


Day 06: Gangtok to Pelling via Namchi


  • Travel to Pelling (128 km / approx. 6 hours) via Namchi


  • Stop at Samdruptse Hill and the massive Chardham pilgrimage site

Day 07: Full Day Pelling Sightseeing


  • Visit Rimbi Waterfall, Khecheopalri Lake, Sky Walk & Kanchenjunga Waterfalls


  • Explore Pemayangtse Monastery, Rabdentse Ruins & Helipad View Tower


  • Return to hotel and relax amid Pelling’s tranquil surroundings


Day 08: Pelling to NJP Railway Station / IXB Airport – Departure
